A 2.9-kg girl is born at term after having carried a prenatal diagnosis of left congenital diaphragmatic hernia since 19 wk of gestation. Delivery and the early postnatal period are uneventful, with mild tachypnea and retractions developing at 24 hr of age. Chest film reveals a normal abdominal gas pattern and multiple lucent areas in the left lower thorax. The most likely diagnosis is:

a)   Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (Bochdalek)

b)   Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (Morgagni)

c)   Congential cystic adenomatoid malformation

d)   Congenital diaphragmatic hernia (hiatal)
